Opaque black beer. Soft dry palate. Very unfortunate aroma of farmyard - cow shit to be precise! Taste is rich creamy malt but with that unpleasant reminder of the nose as well. Gets a little better as it warms up. Minerally spices come to the fore and the cow pat aromas and flavours fade away. A very strange beer - start of near undrinkable and ends up decent. Weird!

Black with a lasting tan head. Roasted aroma with licorice and notes of smoke and tar. Sweetish licorice flavour with a strong roasted finish and a little smoke.

50cl bottle. Past BB date. Trade with The Wolf. Pours pitch black with a settling creamy brown head and lacings. Nose is roasted cold coffee, chococolate and ashy cigaret smoke kind of a homebrew feel. Smooth palate - a bit sticky. Taste is roasted coffee, some liquorice, cabbage and citrussy hops. Quite drinkable - I just choose not to smell while drinking . . Decent.

The bottle looks really good, the beer in the glass also. Starts very dry and strong, roasty-malty, prickly and scratchy. Notes of liquorice and strong coffee. Finish a bit unbalanced.

Bottled. A pitch black beer with a thick brown head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes of roasted malt but also light notes of chocolate. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of soy sauce and chocolate, leading to a dry roasted finish.

Sampled from tap at EBF, Copenhagen 08. Fading brownish head over a devil-black body. Smell of dark chocolate malts. Coarse grained taste followed by cocoa and chocolate notes. Not more than an ordinary porter (14.09.2008).

Draught@EBF2008. Pitch black colour, not much head. Aroma is dark dry fruits, some hops, mild notes of roast. Flavour is leather, mild notes of roast, some wooden notes as well as mild alcoholic notes. Otherwise nice, but the alcohol is a bit too evident.

(Draught, EBF). Pitch black, small tan head. Menthol, barnyard and sweet cocoa aroma. Smooth, very chocolaty. A bit one dimensional.
