9/11/2025. Bottle bought direct from the brewery. Lovely pour, dark ruby brown with a lasting off-white to beige head. Aroma is dark malts, slightly smoky, plummy, dark fruits, dried fruits. Very fruity taste, fairly sweet, slightly ashy. Hint of liquorice. Good body, average carbonation. Very decent dark ale.

Old rating from 08-09-14 - A 500ml bottle, a gift from friends. Pours dark brown with a off white foamy head. Aromas & tastes of toffee & dry roasted malt. Light to medium body. Toasted almonds finish. Enjoyable

Bottle from bottle shop near Callandar. Deep amber brown colour with a tan head. Aroma malty light chocolate sweet. Taste light sweet. Full body.

500ml bottle. Clear, dark, reddish brown with an off white head. Sweet, fruity malt aroma, matched in the flavour which also has some bitterness. Not bad

Deep nutty color with a big off white head. Looks nice and gives a fine lacing down the glass. Fruity, malty and toffee. Medium body and a fine carbonation. Tad sweet and a moderate bitterness. Decent fine bitter.

Bottle on the Calmac ferry from Brodick to Ardrossan. Appearance - dark amber with a decent head. Nose - sweet malt and toffee. Taste -more light toffee intermingled with sweet malt and oats. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - classic 80 shilling.

Bottle at Three Sisters. Clear amber body with a thin beige head. Nice lacing. Aroma of metal, wood and grass. Flavour of nuts, burnt toffee and stewed tea. Thin body with a slightly oily texture. Soft fizz. Clean but dull.
