Clear bright amber body with a small frothy off-white head. Sweet citrusy caramel aroma. Sweet citrus, caramel and light sugary flavor.

Whoa! So much citrus and pine it smells like cat p***. I have died and gone to aroma heaven. Orange tinged gold color with a white head that ringed, but left lace tatters. It’s medium bodied, and the carbonation is near creamy. The flavor is pine and citrus. Oh, some malt of some sort. Meanwhile the citrus resolved into grapefruit. The breakfast of champions - grapefruit garnished with pine needles. As the finish approaches, there seems to be some wood. The ending is not quite dry, but it is hoppy as all get out. This one has to go non-seasonal. The one for the desert island.

Holy crap - before I rate this, let me just say that anyone that would dedicate a beer and the entire label to ol’ Frank and the Mothers is alright in my book. And yes, I’d say they did him right, even if he wasn’t really much of a drinker, they’ve produced a fine beer. Pours a clear bright golden amber color with a sticky thick head. Huge fresh hop aroma, resiny and grapefruit rinds abound, with a mild sweatiness. Clean bready malts in the background. Flavor smooth and easy, with a well balanced zing of spicy resiny hops and bready malts, with a balanced finish that leans towards a thin bitterness. Really an IPA?

Bottle. Light amber beer with an off-white head. Very fruity - peach, appricot, grapefruit - aroma. Very fruity flavor - pithy grapefruit, peach, mango. Good bitterness. Low malt - I usually like a little more than is shown. Lingering grapefruit/tropical hops. Lots of hops. Medium body. I did like it more as I finished it, but I want either a bit more malt or a bit more pine - something to counter the fruitiness.
