Prima classificata Migliore Birra Artigianale Italiana 2006 categoria Altri Cereali
Cinque Stelle della Guida alle Birre d’Italia ediz. Slow Food 2011

33 cl bottle @ home, BBE 10/2013
A gusher unexpected, one fourth went straight on my kitchen table. Aroma is musty with spices, some bitter cocoa and hints of bush leaves. Flavour is spicy with cocoa and peppery tones. Also some dark chocolate. Finishes with some rubbery bitterness. A bit watery and flat, not my thing.

500ml bottle at Maxs. Deep orange-black. Rim lacing beige head. Pronounced sweet chocolate dessert aroma, not roasty. Tastes overly sweet, very brownie like. Hardly a world class product....chocolate syrup. OK maybe, but definitely not worth a premium price.

33cl bottle from Beer City, BB 10/2013.

Very crisp dark ale. Dry like a porter. Taste is complex chocolate, vanilla and a very distinct carrot taste. Interesting. Rated 8/11/08

Draught served at 48˚ Appearance was total blackness with a large tan head with big bubbles that disappear rapidly and leave decent lacing. Smell is cocoa powder and espresso. Taste is caffe macchiato with milk chocolate, and a slightly bitter burnt espresso finish. Slightly light on body, flavors are very subtle. Italian craft beers are getting better, but still have a ways to go.

Bottle from Liquid Solutions. Pours very dark brown with a very large tan head. Aromas of chocolate and some sort of fruit. Full bodied with rather smooth carbonation. Flavor is dark chocolate, dark roasted malt, and something like plummy. Finish is quite unbitter, except for chocolate. Seems to be a little vinous. Quite interesting and good.
