Cask at Swan and Railway, Wigan. Pours almost black with a small foamy beige head. The aroma has roasted malts and liquorice plus a hint of coffee. In the mouth it is quite bitter but with a little underlying sweetness. Favour has roasted malts, coffee and chocolate. Later on liquorice and peaty smoke comes though as well. Finish is slightly bitter. This is a decent stout with plenty of flavour.

Cask at the now gone D'Ale, Rochdale. Back with a creamy-frothy light brown head. It's a little on the rich side, but could be even richer. Dark malts abundant, some roasted too, never that flavoursome

Cask, shared with Finn at Manchester Beer & Cider Festival, Coast to Coast Bar. Clingy lacing from a filmy layer, black in the glass. Peaty malts on the nose. Flavoured with liquorice and coffee, a peaty touch towards the ending. Well made stout considering the low abv. (Third day of the festival 24.01.2020).
