On tap at the brewpub. Orange-golden serving, not all clear, with a dense, off-white head. A bit weak aroma with hops dominating, fruity and piney. The flavor has some roasted and smoked notes, as well as caramel and fruityness, and of course bitterness. Medium body. Quite bitter finish with a nice fruityness. Definately a nice beer, but not the nicest and most interesting from Brewpub København. (071006)

(Draught at the Brewpub, Copenhagen, 2 Aug 2007) Reddish brown colour with ruby notes, frothy white head. Malty nose with dark fruit, wild berries, sweetish malt and some rubbery notes. Malty, grainy taste with dark fruit, wild berries and a rather full taste of earthy hops in the finish. Fairly sweet. Lacking some balance, but still a good beer. And obviously I wouldn’t be able to resist a beer named after my favourite Polly Jean.

Draught @ The Brewpub. Pours a slightly hazy dark golden color with a white head. Malty hoppy aroma with some citrus hints. Sweet malty hoppy bitter flavor with some hints of citrus. Malty hoppy finish with a long bitter aftertaste.

100ml draught at the Biergarten of the brewpub in Copenhagen. Served at the right drinking temperature. Nice, clear brown body over a thin, beige head. Aroma of dried and dark fruits and a caramel touch. Slightly vinous taste offset by notes of hoppy sweetness. Lingering bitter and yeasty end. Medium to full palate. Good brew, but does not quite lives up to its great name (01.08.2007).

Sample from tap at the brewpub. Pours hazy orange with lacing rim. Rasin malty aroma, slight estheric note. Full bodied. Flavour is thick malty, slight sweet filled with minor dried fruit and raisin notes. Good bitterness 1/2 minute into the dry finish. Very well made.

(On tap) Hazy, amber golden with a handsome, dense and very retentive, off-white head leaving quite some lacework. Fresh and floral hopping. Rather full-bodied with notes of caramel and Bastogne biscuits. The finish is flowery hoppy but also brutal and bitter - just like a PJ Harvey song. No wonder Ungstrup likes it - he always was a fan.... 030707
