Bottle from Beers of Europe, online. Pours a near black with small tanned head, some retention. Aroma of roasted sweet malts, chocolate, liquorice, coffee, spice Taste of sweet malts, roast, chocolate, tangy dark fruit middle, finishing dry with roast, liquorice, yeast, mild sourness. Interesting. Near medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Quite a tangy stout with some sourness. Not sure if the yeast took hold a bit too much in my bottle or if it genuinely is supposed to taste like this. For me in slightly distracts from the stout elements although still a decent interesting brew.

Bottle. Branthill Farm Shop. Clear dark ruby red. Not much of a head. In fact it’s not in great nick. Hint of vinegar on top of roast malt and some leafy hop. Fortunately there’s not much taste to this. It’s really quite bland. Thin mouthfeel with low to nil carbonation. Crap tbh.

(Bottle) Pours black with tan head. Gentle pleasant aroma of dark roast grain and coffee. Medium body with good bright carbonation. Nice taste with good balance between dark roast notes and some tart and sweet notes. Coffee, dark chocolate. Very enjoyable and surprisingly refreshing for a stout.

Creamy tan head stayed on black still body. Liquorice & sweet berry aroma. Medium bodied, smooth & creamy on the tongue with a lightly carbonated back & dry aft. Liquorice, berry, demerara & spiced tastes with a tangy peppery finish. Excellent👍
