25/7/2025. Cask at The Harwich Redoubt Beer Festival 2025. Ashy, chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, dark fruits. Drying, fruited, roasted finish. Good.

Cask at House of Hop, Darlington. Gluten Free. Dark brown colour, biege foam head and aroma of malt, roast, coffee, earth. Taste is sweet, roasty malt, ashy, chocolate, dried fruit, coffee, with earthy bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry malty bitter finish. Nicely drinkable

Cask at Prince of Wales, Farnborough. Opaque cola brown. Thick frothy foamy light beige head. However, it is too opaque for my liking. Aroma is relatively light but with definite mocha. Initial punchy mocha bitterness with a sour berry edge. But another however, there is a trad brewery veg soup note in the underbelly. This is detrimental as it waters down the flavour. Light-medium bodied. Oily. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry somewhat astringent finish. Ultimately average of not unpleasant Porter.
