Not all of our beers are easily born, and this one certainly took its time. The foundation of this beer is a blend of two distinct batches of imperial stout, both initially aged in ex-bourbon barrels for an extended period. Early on, both batches drifted slightly off track—not entirely lost, but in need of more time and care. We set them aside, allowing their character to evolve. To further develop one of the batches, we transferred it into ex-rum barrels for a secondary round of oak barrel aging. The result of our patience is a complex and exceptionally smooth imperial stout, refined over 37 months of careful aging. Best enjoyed at a serving temperature of 12-14°C.

Bottle. An intense one, lots of booze without boozyness. Molasses, oak, dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, vanilla hints and of course some alcohol. Toffee, caramel, nuttyness and some prune. Full-bodied and warming. Everlasting finsh. Wonderful, sure was a good idea transferring the beer to rum barrels after the bourbon ageing. 849416 250906

TCBW 2025.
Poured pretty much black in color.
Roasted malts dominates obviously, got some nice oakiness, barrel showing, still balanced despite the hig abv. Got some heat though later.

Tap at BPBW 2025. Blackish body, off-white head. Alcohol dominates the aroma, berry notes, bourbon / vanilla, quite sticky. Barrel-driven taste, bourbon, vanilla, berries, wood, quite sweet, but also somehow a bit stale as well. Didn't engage me as much as I hoped it would.
