A lower-alcohol, malty beer with light caramel, toast, toffee, and fruity flavors. A slight roast dryness offsets the residual sweetness in the finish, with the bitterness perceived only to keep the beer from being cloying. Medium toasty-bready malt with caramel and toffee overtones, finishing with a slightly roasty dryness. Medium-low to medium body.

Draft at The Handlebar. Brown pour, skin of silky tan head. Malty, toasty aroma. Taste is caramel, toasty, sweet, nutty. I haven't had a Scottish Ale this dark, but it really works. So flavorful without being heavy.

Almost done here at Barley & Sword. Dark amber but clear, thin lace. Brown bread, thinned out honey, minerally, salted nose. Fruity, dates, strange orange, potato, very thin & lightweight. Vinous. To style? Didn't hate this.
