Cask at The Postal Order, JDW, Banbury, 30-12-07 in the company of Glen aka imdownthepub Quite a spicy and fruity beer that had potential but ultimately turned out a bit messy. Like a cake that my mum makes i.e. All of the ingredients are in there to end up with what should be a rich fruit cake, like in the book, but somehow you end up with a brick.

Sampled cask conditioned at Oliver Twist, Stockholm, Sweden.
Dark amber. Intense fruity aroma with an evident punch of pine needles. Medium sweet and medium bodied. Rounded mouthfeel with notes of chocolate and a dryish bitter finish with lingering pine needle flavour.
