With a defined hop aroma and an ideal gravity this mild enjoys a certain degree of initial sweetness and caramel notes associated with traditional mild yet still manages to produce a dry finish.

Cask, handpump at the Woolpack, Banbury, Oxon 18-02-08 Poured very dark brown with a nice creamy almost beige coloured head, looked nice! Light chocolate on the nose, tangy and flavoursome in the mouth went down very well.

[Cask at GBBF] Very dark brown. Sweet and roasty with mild, soapy, soft malt character and light body. Some light caramel before a finish with fairly low bitterness. A well balanced quaffable mild.

[Cask at Volunteers Arms, GBBF 2005] A pitch black beer with a small orange head. The aroma is sweet and slightly roasted. The flavor is quite roasted, but also with slight sulphury notes as found in some Milds, and also slight notes of chocolate. The end is very dry and roasted.
