Cask at The Wharf. A clear amber beer with a small off-white head. Slightly unpleasant nose, garbage-like, but mostly malts, dried fruits and citrusy hops. Dry, medium body with flavors of citrus and some sweet crystal malts. Dry, bitter finish. Nothing impressive going on, but quenching and tasteful. 101020

(Cask at Mabel’s Tavern, Euston, London, 25 Nov 2010) Amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with citrus, apricots and dusty hops. Malty, fruity taste with notes of toasty malt, orange, apricots and grain. Light body, with balanced sweetness and a gentle bitterness. A decent session ale.

[Cask at the Bull Inn, Bulverhythe, Hastings] Amber, thin loose cream head. Chocolate & lightly roasted malt in a lovely smooth mothfeel. A glorious relaxing bitter, I didn’t know Shepherd Neame had it in them!

Cask at Akkurat, Sockholm. Clear brownish amber. Caramelly and resiny. The piney, nutty house flavour from Shepheard Neame is prominent. Light-medium bodiedwith clan, rounded mouthfeel. Notes of butterscotch, resiny bitterenss. The flavour seem sort of shallow and fades rather quickly.

Cask-conditioned at the Freemasons Arms, London 07/06/09. Reddish amber with a lacy, moderate off-white head. Caramel and red fruit aroma. Sweetish, malty flavour with a hint of orange fruit and peasant, bitter finish. Easy drinking.

Cloudy amber with tiny white head. Sweet fruity aroma with grassy hops. Sweet flavour with grassy hops, malt and caramel notes. Grassy hops towards the end that gives it a bitter finish.

From cask at Charlies. Pours cloudy orange with a lacing white head. Light malty and bitter aroma. Flavour holds a mild citrus fruity note to a somewhat vague malt base. Goes into a solid bitterness in the finish and ends quite dry. Crisp and clean bitter.
