Brutal bitter is a imperial bitter and one of the original hazy beers that dates back more than 20 years. Brewed and dry hopped with 100% Rogue Farms Alluvial hops that exhibit flavors and aromas of peach (no fruit added). The malt adds good structure, some nuttiness and provides a deep golden hue.

Who wants cheese in an IPA? Not me. Oxidised mess. Ruined by shockingly poor distribution.

Bottle at home from Beer Hawk. Mostly clear orange / amber coloured pour with a lasting loose off white head. Aroma is chewy, caramel malts, orange rind, some biscuit, hints of pine. Flavour is compose of semi-sweet, caramel biscuity grains, orange, tangy, hints of earth and maybe a little pine. Palate is medium bodies, semi sweet, highish carbonation, little chewy. DeScription says "A non traditional ipa" But this is now tasting decided old school.

A beautifully balanced IPA. I was expecting something very challenging based on the name and on the brewery’s well-deserved reputation for pushing the envelope. There’s a great mix of lemon, grapefruit, lime, sherbet, musk and cherry. The grapefruit and cherry are prominent on tasting, as well as toast. A really enjoyable experience.

At Maakun’s. Bottle from Gall & Gall. Fruity orange sweet sugar orange tea with lots of sugar. White raisins. Dried dusty apricot. Sugary sweet with over moderate bitter. Body is medium to full, carbo is low, texture is oily, grainy. Finishes quite nice and round. Pretty nice, could be fresher I guess. --- Beer merged from original tick of Nation Brutal India Pale Ale on 21 Nov 2017 at 13:41 - Score: 7. Original review text: 3.4

Bottle shared thanks to sjogro. Slight hazy amber with off white head. Caramel, lychee, dried apricot, some peach, cardboard, light herbs and some curry, light grains. Almost medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with a bit slick feel. Seems a bit old.

Ambar, no mucha espuma que dura poco. Potente aroma resinoso lupulado, citrico, fruta tropical.

Godt balansert.

650ml bottle into shaker. As ’Portland State IPA’. Smoky malt nose, hoppy background. Translucent orange colour appearance with creamy white head with good lacing. Steady and fine carbonation. Slight zing, oily texture. Gorgeous hops complemented by creamy malt background. Finish is short and subtly fruity. Really easy drinking for 6.3%! Nice.

Bottled 355ml. -from Pivoljub Ljubljana. Cloudy pale golden coloured, small off-white head, touch of honey and caramel in the nose. Sweet malty, caramel, hops, notes of honey and fruits with mild dry nutty finish. Pretty ordinary.
