50cl bottle from the Scottish Real Ale shop. Appearance - a lovely amber colour with a nice lacy head. Nose - mostly toffee but just a hint hint of herbs or pine. Taste - honey and wholemeal bread. A wee citrus kick at the end. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture but just a hint of malt astringency on the finish. Overall - good beer but pleasure slightly reduced by the mildly astringent finish.

Bottle from Islay Ales. It pours golden yellow with a medium white head. The nose is dough, spice, floral, earth and hay. The taste is hay, earth, spice, flour, floral and light soap, with a dry, earthy finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Ok, but nothing special.
