Draft pint into the correct glass at a Thai Restaurant in Vienna on 19th September 2025, day trip from Bratislava. Hazed orange body, usual banana and clove nonsense with a huge billowing head. Not a fan of the style to be honest. Scored objectively.

Tap at the source in Salzburg-Austria. Muddy orangey pour, persistent and tick orangey foam. Nose: orange and crumb. Meh. Mouth: not my cup of tea, thin and a bit offensive.

Bottle in Vienna, before it was retired (backlog). Light yellow color, very loudy. Sweet aroma of malt and yeast. Much more flavor than your average bottled zwickl. Very malty, slightly sweet, with fruit. Very good, better than any other bottled zwickl I have had. Yeast flavor is there. A decent, drinkable beer. Not mind-blowing, but closer to the better draught unfiltered beers than anything else in a bottle.

Bottle. Alc. 5.3% Unclear mediun to dark yellow orange color with a average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, light buttery. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (301007)

Draught@Stieglkeller, Salzburg
Hazy orange color, decent cloudy white head. Wet paper, grass and mango. Lime, hops and esters. Aftertaste is hoppy and estery. Somehow reminds me about some saisons of Belgium.

Das Stiegl Zwickl ist tatsächlich nur 4 Monate haltbar, durchaus beachtabr, dass eine so große Brauerei auch solche Produkte im Angebot hat. Milder getreidig-malziger Antrunk, der zum Mittelteil milder zu werden scheint. Die Malzigkeit ist fast wieder verschwunden, auch die zwischenzeitlich aufgekommene Herbe ist weitestgehend verschwunden. Dagegen gefällt die Würze und die Fruchtigkeit, die sich aber leider der Milde des Bieres anpasst. Im Nachgeschmack etwas würziger, dazu malzig und minimal herb. Zuletzt zeigt sich ein Ton, der wohl bitter sein soll, was nicht ganz gelingt. Erfrischendes Sommerbier! Test vom 2.7.2007, Gebinde: Glasflasche Noten: 10,10,10,9,11,10 - 9,90

Hazy blond color. Maybe because I had good and hoppy beers not so long ago, but this one is very poor. A too simple Zwickel with some hay flavor; quite strong bitterness.

(Bottle 50 cl) Hazy pilsener golden with a creamy, white head. Discreet aroma of malt and perhaps a wee yeasty touch. Medium-bodied with sweetish malt and an almost flowery freshness. Very discreet bitterness. 240406

A hazy orange beer with a nice white head. The aroma is plainly sweet malty combined with some notes of hops. The flavor is dry hoppy - a boring hop sort is used, combined with notes of caramel, but the body is thin. Boring.

Bottled(500ml). -quite nice, light hazy in color, very fresh and clean taste, good hop flavor
