Bottle. Poured a clear reddish orange amber with a lasting light brown head. Aroma was full of fruits with a bit of citrus and a bit of tartness. Flavor was a little darker with some caramel notes that balanced nicely with the fruity flavors. There was a bit of an alcohol bite towards the finish.

Bottle. It pours an almost clear body, golden in color, and topped by a decent off-white head. Some alcohol, caramel and dried fruits, fresh fruits and cellar in the nose. The flavor has a nice bitterness in addition to the caramel, dried and fresh fruits and cellar also found in the aroma, but the alcohol is more like a pleasant warmth in the mouth than a real flavor. Full-bodied and effervescent. Bitter finish with some cellar. A nice beer, blending flavors in a lovely way. 090724

A hazy dark amber ale with a thick creamy white head. In aroma, a strong ester and fruits¸, yeasty, coriander, typical Unibroue profile. In mouth, a good candy sugar, heavy coriander, orange peels, light belgian hops in final. Rich and smooth. Light alcohol in finish. Tasted early 2007.

Deep orange color and a foamy white head. Fruity as hell smell that overwhelms the nostrils. Pretty thick palate. All encompassing flavor, hits every tastebud. Leaves some aftertaste. Wicked amount of roasted malts, but they don’t taste like a stout or a porter, rather something else. Dark fruit is most predominant. Caramel! Whoo. A unique as hell beer from a fine brewer.

Bottle as shown. Pours a coppepr amber color with a large frothy off white head that lasts. The aroma is a pungent caramel malt, raisin and licorice. Good lacing on the glass. The taste is a sweet caramel and a nice spicy finish that hides the alcohol well. A very good belgian strong ale from Unibroue.

Bottled. Cloudy amber, rich lively head. Almondy nose with herbal spices. Sweet and caramelly, lively and sparkling with notes of pears and fruit salad. Grassy finish with some coriander. A compleax and arousing beer. Unibroue’s releases may be rather similar, but they’re still top class!
