Tap at the brewery - pours nearly black, almost looking like a stout - moderate off-white lace - nose is deeply roasty, with notes of tobacco, light smoke, hazelnut, light maple, a bit of hard water burtonesque character - actually smells quite inviting - medium to full body, lightly slick texture - fairly sweet, but also moderately bitter and acidic, cutting the sweetness a bit - roasted nuts, mild smoke, light woody bitterness - the finish is fairly sweet and lightly alcoholic, lessening the overall enjoyment, but it’s pretty good.
