A classic style mild, dark and well balanced with a hop aroma and underlying sweetness which, combined with the smooth malty finish, makes it an excellent example of a traditional Black Country mild.

Cask@GBBF2007. Really dark amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is mild roastiness, but mainly dark fruits. Flavour is dark fruits along with vanilla and some wood. Flavour is dark fruits along with vanilla and some wood. Really nicely balanced and different.

Cask @ Volunteer Arms, GBBF 2006. Pours a black colour with a small tan head. Fruity aroma with some hints of caramel. Sweet malty slightly fruity flavor, hints of dark fruits. Sweet malty finish.

Cask at GBBF Very dark ruby but that is as far as it resembles a dark mild. Not typical at all of this type of beer, diacetyl on the nose and none of your usual dark burnt roasted malt flavours. Very disappointing
