Cask-conditioned at the Portcullis, Bristol 11/12/08. Exclusive to the Dawkins Taverns of Bristol. Reddish-amber in colour with a slight, off-white head. Malty, orange and redcurrant aroma, with some caramel and earthy hops. Flavour began slightly sweet, before some leafy hops and then a finish which proved very long with orange peel, cloves and a lingering nutmeg kick. Unusual and a huge improvement on mulled wine.
