Draft. A- Apple, grape must, subtle vanilla, mild sourness. A- Amber color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Mild sourness, apples, grapes, slightly sweet. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, balanced finish. O- Usually I find Crooked Stave a little too funky or overbearing. I had the blueberry version of this first and loved it. Turns out the base beer is great all by itself. Really smooth and tasty. I just wish they would make a lot variants. Raspberry, apricot, cherry, so many things that would make this beer awesome.

Sample. Pours a hazy, light brown, with a small, creamy, beige head. The nose is buttermilk or some kind of sharp cheese, with some lemon, caramel, and ripe apples. Sweet up front, with a decidedly funky finish. Medium body, creamy, thick, and lightly acidic. This is a pretty good sour, but the lacto is overdone, and the nose is almost, but not quite, off-putting.

Sample at The Source. The beer pours a cloudy orange-amber color with a medium off-white head that diminishes gradually to a film. Strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of oak, funky fruit, yeast and malt. Full-bodied with flavors of vinous oak, funky yeast, fruit and caramel malt. The finish is tart and oaky with a fruity aftertaste. Pretty good all around.

375 mL bottle poured. Much thanks to my brother for sharing his Crooked Stave collection. Found one of the waxed ones. Pours a thick clouded orange with a swirl fizz head. Oaky, sour orange fruit aroma. Flavor is a good sweet and sour balance, oak for sure, and a little floral in the finish. Thick stuff. Slightly dry finish. Great addition to the sour family. Unique, and great in its own entire way. Fantastic beer. Loved it

375mL bottle, pours a murky dark orangey brown with a tiny white head. Nose brings out notes of oak, light tartness and murky earthy notes. Flavour is a lovely balance between sweet and tart (non-acidic / non-acetic), with tart light fruits, candied sugar and some light brett. Very complex and wonderfully tart - great balance between the opposing elements. Excellent.
