Sample at the tap room. Clear dark reddish-amber color with a thin off-white head that recedes quickly to an outer ring. Small patches of lacing. Aroma of oak, roast malt and fruit. Medium to full body with flavors of oak, peat malt and ripe fruits. The finish is oaky whiskey with an earthy malt aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

Tulip at the brewery - dark ruby pour - soapy lace - the malt is showcased fairly well here, with some rich toffee, but also drier notes of peat, whiskey, mushroom/earth - the light addition of salt works well to cut the sweetness - some notes of plum - finishes with whiskey, but very well-masked alcohol.
