Tap at CK - tapped as the "mystery beer" at their annual "new years mystery beer release" - one of only two kegs - dark amber with a purplish tint - quite rich and smooth, with a rather strong, rich melanoidin quality to it - deep, rich malt character that makes it hard to pick up the qualities imparted by the yeast - a lot of dark fruit character in the form of plum and fig - a very light touch of spiciness - caramel and toffee - certain characteristics are not all that "quad-like," but the fact that a brewery that has been open for nine months can produce a beer at this strength with such balance and richness is quite an accomplishment - very tasty.
