Cask at The Waiting Room, Whitby. Pours clear brown with a thin beige head. Aromas of toffee, caramel, chocolate. Taste is nutty and caramel. Sweet finish.

Cask @ Fleetwood Beer & Cider Festival. Nice head with good duration. Color is dark brown. Aroma and taste are roast malt, fruits, caramel, malt and hops. Sweet caramel finish.

Cask @ Fleetwood Beer and Cider Festival. Clear very dark brown with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt and dark fruit. Flavor is medium sweet and light bitter. Sweet and light bitter finish. 090219

Cask at the Devonshire Arms, Cambridge. Pours dark brown with a small off-white head. Aroma of chocolate, fruit, light roasting and light smoke. Moderate sweetness, medium bitterness. Medium body, slightly oily and watery texture, soft carbonation.

Tried in bottle from Waitrose, Stamford. Deep ruby to almost black colour with a thin tan head. Aroma dried fruit and light chocolate. Taste light fruity sweet. Medium to full body.

Black colour, beige head. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, brown bread, brown bread dough. Sweet malty flavour, caramel. Bit thin. Sweet finish, chocolate.

Cask at GBBF ’14, day 2, 13/08/14. Light black with a moderate tan covering. Nose is liqourice, brown bread, light roast, hint of cocoa powder. Taste comprises earthy notes, light roast, toffee, dark fruit rinds. Medium bodied, moerate carbonation, semi drying close. Pleasing enough mild.

GBBF Day 2. Cask. Clear deep brown beer, small cream colour head. Palate is light and dry. Mild fine carbonation. Mild and dry dark malts with a mellow tang. Touch of unsweet dark chocolate. Insipid dark fruits. Dry finish. Okay.
