Bottle at home in London - picked up at the Lab. Pours mostly clear gold, lightly effervescent, with a foamy white head that fades out just a touch too quickly. Lots of doughy wheat bread in the nose, some bruised bananas, faint apple, ripe citrus, clove. Medium sweet flavor with rich, lightly toasted wheat bread, more ripe banana, orange, faint bitter hay. Light to medium bodied with lively carbonation. Finishes with further prominent wheat bread, some pale grains, pleasant phenolics, fruits, very faint caramel. A fairly true take on the German wheat beer. Perhaps a little bit too sugary at times, but overall it’s very enjoyable.
