Cask at the Bullfinch brewery taproom. Pours mostly clear golden-brown with minimal head. The nose has lots of oily hops, pine, ripe orange, bread, some ripe apples. Heavy sweet flavor, lightly syrupy, with toasted grains, stewed apples, leaves, earth, ripe orange, melon, mango. Full bodied, chewy, with soft carbonation. Hot and resinous on the finish, with bitter grass and pine, syrupy sugars, toasted bread and grains, overripe citrus fruits. Well, unsurprisingly this is heavy-duty gear. Given its heft it has some drinkability, but the beer is mostly novelty and I would struggle with more than 1/3 of a pint - which is what I have in front of me.
