Our first year was big, so a “Bigger Boat” seemed appropriate for celebrating this anniversary. Pretty simply, we doubled everything: malt, hops, gravity, number of yeasts, and time in fermenter. Creating an immense transcontinental trade-worthy craft while keeping the stony, linear, crisp, dry spirit that defines our sessionable day runner. Pacific Jade and Zythos were used to add another vibrant lemony touch to Boat’s bitter citrusy hop bill. A fist full of wheat and a combination of Kolsch and Chico yeasts round the mouth feel to the alcohol and float the girth of this ship. Drink SS 2012 because we only turn one once.

Keg at The Pony Bar UES, NYC. Pours cloudy gold with a fine, fluffy white head. Nice nose with lots of dry citrus, herbs and toasted grass. Light to medium sweet flavor with lots of gritty, dirty straw, dry and ripe orange and lemon rinds, grass, flowers, herbs. Medium to full bodied with average carbonation and chewy texture. Decently resinous to finish with some sticky grass, dirt, raw pine, dandelions, medium sweetness. Lasting bitter flowers and grass. A fair DIPA.
