Bluebird XB combines two of the great themes of ale brewing to produce something distinctive and new.
The fine tradition of English Pale Ale is about quaffing, refreshment and complexity of flavour without alcoholic strength.
Then throw in new wave American hop variety Mount Hood with robust citrus aromas and the result is a smooth ale with floral hints, light malt tones and a hoppy freshness.

Draft at Snallygaster 2024. Poured a clear yellow-orange color, small white head. Aroma was light sweet malts, light yeast. Some toasted notes. Thin, but in a good way. Easy to drink.

On cask at The Beer Temple, pours a cloudy dark golden orange with a small white head. Aroma brings out bready malt, light bitterness, and a touch of hops. Flavour is full of bready malt, subdued hops, and earthy fungal notes. Not hugely impressed with this. Meh.

Cask @ Black Bull Inn, Coniston. Clear golden with a small head. It's a light hoppy bitter and is quite clean tasting. There's malts in its nose.

On cask at Black Bull Coniston - Clear gold body with a tight foamy white head. A flowery hop nose. Not as bitter as the standard Bluebird and sweeter. Tangy finish, but got a little samey as the drink went on.

On cask at the Black Bull. Appearance - golden with a proportionate head. Nose - oranges and grapefruit. Some biscuit. Taste - biscuit more prominent and still a bit orange note too. Palate - close to medium bodied with a creamy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - good beer and quite high bitterness given the style.

Tap at RJ. Aroma floral, fruity, floral. Quite tempting. Clear deep golden colour. Stable white head. Taste is a little bit watery, but nicely hoppy. Simple clean beer. Herbal floral flavours, enjoyable, refreshing, good.
