Bottled@The 1st Vaasa CS/ES beer session (thanks JP). Pitch black with minor beige head. Aroma is ashes, coffee, caramel malts, roasted malts and some slight notes of toffee. Flavour is rather much the same, but has a clearly stronger chocolaty tone. Very pleasant.

Bottle. Black body, with an oily surface and some tan head. Roasted and burnt aroma, with alcohol-notes, wood, licorice and some turpentine notes. Heavy, roasted flavor, with licorice, some alcohol and tar. Full body. Long, burnt and tar-like finish. A really heavy beer, with lots of dark flavors. (070914)

Pours thick & pitch black with some small brown bubbles on top which disappears fast. Burned malts - chocolate, coffee & caramel. Some smokey & dusty "old" notes as well. Medium bodied. Oily & sticky. Smooth palate & flat carbonation. Sugar & sweet malts before a bitter roasted end. Nice!

(Bottle 50 cl) Completely opaque black with a rough, beige head. Fat aroma of dried fruit - prunes in particular - and a slightly peaty edge. Rather full-bodied with plenty of burned malt and a distinct, ashy edge. Sweet accents of prunes and a high malt astringency. 200707

Black with a brown, lasting head. Intense aroma of dark malts, licorice, chocolate and molasses. Very sweet, still licorice and molasses, only a hint of bitterness in the finish. Very full and creamy mouthfeel.
