[Another century celebrated with a Mikkeller beer - this time 8900] Draft. A deep red-brown beer with a disappearing brown head. The aroma is sweet malty combined with strong notes of raspberries and wood. The flavor is a mixture of sweet and acidic with notes of raspberries and wood. For a lover of Flemish Sour beers this is lovely.

Draught at Københavnske Øldage 2007
Dark chestnut color; thin creamy head. The fruity-sour aroma of Oud Bruin beers is strong. Powerful flavor too, full malty, a bit vinous, fruity, chemicals… I love so much this!

Draught at Københavnske Øldage. Deep mahogany color, clear, and without head. Really a juiced-up flamish sour ale, with a good dash of alcohol, but a decent level of sourness. Quite sweet flavor, yet very sour, with dried fruits as well. A bit astringent mouthfeel, as it should be. The finish is both sweet and acidic. (070511)

Small rim of bubbles; dark Coca-Cola ale. Acetic acid, raspberry, tannines, old cognac in a barrel. In the taste, raisins, higher alcohols, cognac, sulphur, and very sweet on swallowing. Very rich MF, sticky, full bodied as few others. I do not get the medicinal flavours/aromas other taster complain about. Then, being a dentist, I might have gotten immune... There’s something funny about it, to me, it is like a little rest of brandy, in an emptied cask, that has gone sour despite all the ABV. Still, I liked it - thanks Lachesis for sharing, and of course, to Mikkel!

RB# 600. CBF07 sample from tap. Pours deep amber and brown. Aroma of sweet sugar and citric raspberry. Flavour is very very sweet into a slight sour blend. Some wood appears once the extreme sweetness has settled. Finish is alcoholic and sweet.

(On tap) Hazy, reddish brown with an off-white head. Acidic aroma with some caramel and wood. The body is only medium in spite of the heavy alcohol but the sweetness is distinct - well actually this is EXTREMELY sweet. Flavours of wood, caramel and some berryish fruitiness. No biterness really. The aroma is enticing but the sweetnes is unbearably sticky making this unbalanced and hard to drink. 110507
