Poured into a weizen glass, the appearance was a ruggedly dark brown close to black with a tan three fingers worth of fluffy foamy head. Lace seems to cling appropriately and leaves some foamy rings running here and there.
The aroma takes on some chocolate covered bananas playing with the clove distraction from the yeast. Malted wheat.
The flavor yields to the chocolate initially and then the yeasty clove-like esters. Driven sweet wheaty bite. Then an aftertaste fulfilling the blend of the clove to the chocolate and banana. Quick sweet wheaty finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Mild carbonation. Decent ABV is felt. Wheat smooths out to leave a good feel on my tongue.
Overall, interesting dunkelweizen, maybe one of those American dark wheat ales, or just needs to have the yeast interact better with the wheat, not sure. Somewhat good for what it is.

Pours a nice rich dark brown with a crema colored head, some lacing. Aroma of banana, tobacco. Flavor is similar with some clove. Pretty good beer.

Better than I expected but had a straw, hay-like character that was not very appetizing. Nice subtle brown sugar notes, and a little banana and vanilla in the finish.
