Pours a black with an almost bluish tinge from a growler. Big nutty and cola aroma and flavor, nice herbal bitterness is there but not overpowering. Pretty well balanced. Good beer.

Reviewed from notes.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a hazy yet somewhat dark brown color with a one finger white to off white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some light lacing sticking and then sliding down.
The smell had a sort of a slight nutty/dark fruity aroma about it.
The taste was mainly sweet and carried a light breadiness about it.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a somewhat sessionable quality about it. The carbonation was fairly smooth.
Overall, this was a pretty good brown ale I could have again.

Sample at the brewery. Named for the owner’s Springer Spaniel who roams around the brewery, this poured a thin brown with a white head that lasted a while. Taste is thin, a little too watery but nice caramel malts with just enough hops to even it out a little. A nice very easy brown.
