Our Head Brewer has combined the finest East Anglian Ale malted barley with a subtle blend of Crystal Malt and Caramalt with McMullen’s own pure spring water. The addition of whole leaf Fuggle, Bramling Cross and Golding Hops at different stages of the brewing process gives a golden bitter with hints of citrus and spicy berries for a well balanced beer.

Cask at George IV, Sawbridgeworth. Dark amber pour with a thin white head and bags of lace. Nice fruity aroma leading to a very smooth bitter taste which lingers on the palate forever. A very tasty, refreshing and drinkable session beer.

Cask at the Heron on the Lake, Fleet. Amber with a thin cream head; sweet, biscuity aroma; thin with a doughy flavour and some fruity sweetness; then a dry finish. Pleasant enough, but nothing more.
