Almost black with a huge brown head. Roasted malt and a bit of smoke in the nose like a stout. Sweet, soft and round like a wheat beer. Great combination. 150111

(Draught at Bishop’s Arms Folkungagatan) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Roasted, malty nose with gentle aromas of coffee, chocolate and ashes. Roasted, malty taste with notes of coffee, chocolate and a slightly citric wheat character coming through after a while. Mild, spicy bitterness in the finish. Quite fresh. Medium body, fairly dry, with a slightly prickly carbonation. Quite nice. (7/4/6/4/13=3.4) Retried (bottle) 2 May 2014. Tasting notes are more or less the same, with liquorice and a touch of smoke coming through as well. A slight sweetness in a finish with a gentle bitterness. A bit like a wheaty sweet stout. Nice one.

50cl Bottle, a gift from plovmand, thanks bro! Black colour, thin but creamy beige head. Aroma of coffee and milk, roasted malts, bit of ash. Flavour is light sweet, cream, hard roasted malts, light smoke, coffee, bitter roasted finish with sweet undertone. Light bodied, soft carbonation. Easy drinking stout. Re-rate tap at Monk’s Porterhouse, Stockholm. Light tartness to it, berries as well. Different from what I recall, but good.

Dense & thick cream head with a greyish taint over black beer with brown/orange reflections. Rich cakey, chocolatey, warm & alcoholic nose, molasses, faint ashes, burnt, and some fruity/ureum in the background. Very complex. Dry, grains & roasted grains with touches of bitter chocolate. Ending in more hoppy chocolate. Dry MF, with some creamy, rather thick texture. Nice beer, complexer than many stronger and heftier beers; little Weizencharacter, IMO.

Bottle. Licorice and roast aroma. Jet black collapsing capucino head. Dark roasted, light smoked and salmiak notes dominate the flavor, remains dry and elegant with a light citric and wheat fruity counterpoint. Medium body, light sparkly.
