Very dark brown with a big off-white head. Lots of dark malt, a little bacon smoke, some chocolate and some German wheat yeast character in the aroma. Quite sweet, roasted and slightly smoked flavour

I was expecting a weizen, but this is more of a stout. Dark brown color, medium brown head. Aroma is smoked, roasted malts, bready, some coffee, rye. Bitter malty taste. Never tasted a Dunkelweizen this way. Thnx for joes to bring this.

Bottled. A very very dark brown beer with a huge brown head. The aroma is sweet and very roasted giving it notes of chocolate, but also with notes of wheat and straw - a mixture of a stout and a hefeweizen. The flavor is sweet malty with strong notes of chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, and wheat, and lesser notes of banana, leading to a dry wheaty and roasted end. To me this is a fine mixture of a stout and a dunkles weizen - it is far more roasted than your standard dunkles weizen.

Bottled. Very dark brown, clear beer with a reddish hue and a beige head. Coffee-like roasted aroma with some mocha. Sweet and coffee-like, roasted flavor and a sweet and roasted finish. Medium to full, a bit dry body. A quite nice one, maybe a bit coffee-ish for a dunkelweizen, yet good. (070331)
