We were really happy with how Northern Rising (our first Nitro Stout) turned out and immediately set to work planning when we could nitro something else. And here we are, Patrons Projects 40.05, Northern Monk Presents… Dubwhy. A 6.0% Nitro Export Stout.

Dubwhy have been kitting out the people of the North (and beyond!) since 2001. We’ve been wanting to get a collab off the ground with them for a while and are stoked to have them on board here for our first ever Nitro Export Stout.

Historically, in the 18th and 19th centuries, the Export Stout (also known as Foreign Stout) was heavily hopped to give the brew a longer shelf life for destinations in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean.

Here, we've taken a roasty, smooth stout base and we'#ve packed it with a generous dose of Chinook hops, bringing a punchy bitterness with notes of pine, black pepper, spice, dark fruits and dark chocolate.

And being a Nitro Stout, open and pour hard and watch the beer beautifully settle before enjoying.

Pretty much black with a big beige head. Bold notes of earth, cocoa powder, coffee, roasted notes, a hint of burnt malt, a surprising bright snap midway through. Finish has a light roast profile with a touch of licorice and fruit.Medium bodied. Really nice nitro stout that skews a bit more roasted and dry.

440ml can bought at Vinmonopolet Langnes. Steady, creamy beige head leaving hanging lacing on the glass, jet black in body appearance. Promising roasted, earthy chocolate aromas. Fine malt dominated flavours, chocolate and coffee, joined by moment dark berries. Roasted malty bitterness to the finish. Nice (Tromsø, 23.03.2025).
