On tap at Oakland CHoP.
Aroma is malt forward with nice toasted bread, caramel, toffee and hints of nuts, roast and chocolate. Light woody, herbal hop notes. A tough of dark fruit.
Pours a fairly clear, dark brown with auburn and ruby hues with a medium large, thick, dark tan head that recedes slowly to a small film that lingers.
Flavor is somewhat sweet with really nice malt notes. Lots of caramel, toasted bread, toffee and hints of chocolate and roast. Faint nutty notes. Medium low bitterness and light alcohol notes. Light woody, herbal hop notes.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth.
Overall, a solid brown ale. Great malt character with good complexity. Really easy drinking beer.
