Lively amber beer, thick frothy head. Light aroma of malty fruit.Flavour is dried fruit, caramel, some toasty malt and a little hop. Despite the liveliness it's pretty smooth and has a nice finish to it too.

Very good in the style no doubt about it. Malty with a clear alcohol warmth. Balanced with a fair amount of bitterness. Slight scotch yeast flavour I like. D& S Dresden

500ml bottle. Clear, chestnut colour with small to average, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, off-white head. Slightly toasty, malty aroma with a cautious nutty and chocolately touch, fruity hoppy overtones with slightly earthy hints of red berries. Taste is sweet-ish dark malty, minimally toasty and fruity hoppy, hints of chocolate, notes of cherry and red berries; increasing fruitiness, lingering fruity finish. Nice.

Bottle from Scotmid. Appearance - deep red to brown. Proportionate head. Nose - some red fruits and apple. Expected toffee. Taste - toffee, prunes. Then more like treacle. Toffee apple at the back. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy yet tangy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - a lovely complex ale.

Bottle. Dark brown with shades of red and a small /white beige head. Aroma of sweet malts and dried fruits. Taste of malts, toffee, nuts, fruitcake and dark fruits. Slightly spicy as well. Sweet with a bitter and earthy finish. Low to medium carbonation. A little bit boozy but still balanced. Nice.
