Shared at Kyoto Brewing’s launch party in Kyoto. A deep reddish brown with a beige head. 10.5% a nose of sweet fruity cherries with a soft light silky body. A sweet chocolatey cherry flavor. Tasty and smooth.

Bottle from Hegedorn’s. Fruity nose, grapes, chocolate, caramel, coriander maybe. Quite fruity, citrus, grape, cherry. Flavor like a spicy brownie, with tangy fruits. A bit too much spice, and the body rather thin. I was really excited about this, but although nice enough it came nowhere close to my expectations.

Wonderful aroma, dried fruits, yeast, slightly herbal. Taste brings more of the same, earthy, rich, vibrant. Dark brown \ ruby body, small airy head, finish could be longer.

750 ml bottle. I purchased this at Market Basket, I always walked past it thinking it was mediocre. Well yet again I am wrong. The thing I love about beer is it can alway surprise you, this beer did just that. Dark brown with amber hues, thick white head. severed in a chalice. Aroma is plums, raisins, anise, light red grapes and Belgian yeast. Spilt 3 ways with family and friends.

More complex and real surprising for a brew you can find in a super market! Flavor is a myriad of malty flavors with yeasty notes. Prunes, figs, dates, English toffee. The yeast gives the malt some balance and complexity. Fruity yeasty flavors, cherries, red grapes giving a mild port wine flavor. This brew is sweet but still works. The texture is smooth with a medium body with a mild sugary finish. Could be the best brew I purchased at a super market!

Poured from 750mL bottle (best before 01-18-2018, saved for a year). Light black with tan head. Aroma has lots of sweet raisin, fig, and plum, a little unibroue belgian yeast and citrus notes. Taste similar, but the alcohol comes through and gives it a little kick.
