Bottle. Belgium yeast, vinous prune, cherry, vanilla, brown sugar, and light alcohol aroma. Deep mahogany with a moderate beige head. Sweet cherry, brown sugar, Belgian yeast flavor, and very light anise in the finish. Medium body, soft carbonation, light alcohol burn.

Bottle. Cherry, prune, yeast, and vanilla toffee malt aroma - exquisite. Dark brown with moderate head. Sweet cherry, prune, and strong brown sugar malt flavor. Hint of alcohol in the finish but doesn’t seem anywhere near 10.5%. Delicious.

Bottle sample at a tasting at the new Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks kerenmk. Hazy dark reddish brown. Aroma of malt, dark fruits, yeast and alcohol. Sweetish alcoholic flavor with dark fruits, some brown sugar, molasses notes and alcohol. Medium-bodied.

A good beer, but it doesn’t really taste that much different from most of Unibroue’s other main titles. Tastes like halfway between Maudite and Fin du Monde. Floral aroma with that signature beer on lees Unibroue taste. Pours black with good initial head. Taste is sweet and bitter with nice perfumed finish. Very good, but didn’t quite live up to expectations. Perhaps it was just too long in the coming. Bottle.

This ale poured a deep brown colour with a big, creamy, tan coloured head. Light lacing. Scents include smoke, weiner water, caramel, malt, spice(Allspice?) and a little cocoa. First sip was very creamy with light carbonation. Fairly sweet with flavours of yeast, malt and spice. Finish is thick and sweet with almost a mollassass palate.

750 ml bottle. Pours a very dark brown with medium persistent head. Aromas of dates, raisins, spice (yes mincemeat), yeast, and a bit of white pepper. Sharp and acidic. Flavors of cinnamon and nutmeg, roasted malts, tobacco and plums.

750 at home in a Bordeaux glass at cellar temp (60F). Best before 10-15-2014. Poured a dark brown to black. No head at all, nice whisp cork pop on the opening. This smells wonderful. Tons of candied sugar, lots of dark fruits, hint of grapes and citrus. it has this sort of fernet branca taste. Like a dessert liquor. Burn in the chest. Raisins, figs and mint. Hint of peaches and plums. Very nice!!!
