500 ml bottle. My bottle labeled as Skamalgam Barrel-aged Beers No.3 . Not sure is this is a new beer and there is Skamalgam No1 and No 2. I'll leave that detail to the Colorado admin. Brown pour with a quickly vanishing head. Aroma is mildly tart with sour cherries and a touch of vanilla. The taste is sour/tart with cherries, grains, raisins and some oak. The flavor picks up in sour intensity on the finish and lingers. Palate is light with soft and fine carbonation. I paired this with some gorgonzola cheese, which was not the best pairing, but the cheese did cut down on the lingering sour acidity. Overall: reminds me a bit of the Flemish reds, not a bad effort for a bunch of gringo caballeros.
