Crisp amber body with a nice, dense four centimetre tall tan head that fades down to two or so in a few seconds. Aroma of cherries, malt, toffee and a bit of earth - not much else though. Super Light-bodied; Very mild malt flavour with some yeast, a touch of lemons, some cardboard and a tiny bit of nuts at the tail end. Aftertaste is not much of anything, aside from yeast and water - no malt, no alcohol and definitely no hop flavour at all. Overall, sadly a pretty poor beer that wasn’t inspiring in the slightest, but I was happy to bring it back halfway around the world and have it NOT explode (unlike the Bone Crusher). I sampled this 550 mL seemingly South African-only bottle (i’ve only seen bottles like this down there, but EVERYWHERE) purchased from Simon’s Town Bottle Shop in Simon’s Town (South Cape Town), Western Cape, South Africa for ZAR21,90 on 31-December-2011 sampled back on the opposite side of the globe at home in Washington on 06-September-2012.
