Cask at The Scottish Real Ale Festival 2014. Pours clear amber, thick off-white head. Nice lacing. Aromas of caramel and toffee, light fruit. Taste is more of the same. Bit sticky, but not bad.

Cask @ Moulin Inn [280213]
Dark amber, clear, thin white head
Aroma - little on the nose
Taste - soft light fruity malts, very soft caramel, touch of berry fruits, bit earthy, slightly odd flavour in there, passable
Palate - Light to medium body, smooth texture. Finish as main flavour, there’s that bitter bit astringent finish again (more so than the Light Ale)
Overall - I could drink it but it comes across as rather flawed

Rerate at the Perth Arms, Dunkeld, a bit more zesty this time. Previous rating 2.7. On tap @ Moulin. Pour amber with a thin head. The nose has a faint note of honey and raisins. The taste has more honey and raisins with a big malt finish. The palate is medium to full bodied with a tangy texture and some bitterness on the end, though still a bit cloying. Overall, needs more fresh hoppiness, though this kind of ale does seem to suit the rich cuisine of the pub.

Cask at Moulin Inn, Pitlochry, Scotland. Hazy honey-like amber colour, thin white head. Aroma is fruity, light hoppy, passionfruit, melon. Flavour has the same qualities, with a lemon hoppy bitter finish. Light bodied, oily mouthfeel, no carbonation.

From cask at Bon Accord. Pours clear and golden orange with a creamy and slight off-white head. Light caramel malty with a light acidc note showing through. Caramel malty and towards breadish dry flavoured. Holds mild bitterness and a light acidic touch into the finish. Smooth and roasted to light acidc malty finish.

On tap (at the brewpub): Deep golden, persitent small head; honey and sweet hops in the aroma, underpinned by a shy vinous fruitiness; light bodied, moderate, almost dry bitter flavour; bitter, slightly tart finish. O.K., a decent thirst-quencher........

Cask (handpump) @ Moulin Hotel/ Pub, Moulin by Pitlochry PH16. Reddish amber colour. Fruity aroma with barley and lychees. Obviously very fresh. Dry minerally finish. Good stuff.

Sampled cask conditioned at the Moulin Brewery. Reddish amber colour. Evident lemon aroma. Light body, dryish and smooth. Slightly salty, low bitterness.
