The Cold War lasted for 45 years, but the threat of a nuclear attack peaked during the 1950’s. In an effort to protect citizens should such an event occur, the U.S. government built fortified bunkers underground. The bunkers were designed to help wait out the devastating aftermath of a highly radioactive event, but luckily, they were never needed. These fortified shelters showed resilience and strength, with many still in use today, albeit primarily for storage.

In our efforts to continuously improve, we strengthened our arsenal of barrel-aged beers with the addition of this brand new English Barleywine. The elevated presence of alcohol is crafted to protect the natural toffee and caramel notes extracted from the malt blend, and ensure they stand the test of time. It was then sheltered in bourbon barrels for several months, imparting notes of vanilla, oak, and ethanol. Drink fresh, or age it in a cool, dark bunker to enjoy later.

Able Baker, Vegas, Sept. '23. Clear, deep russet, ruby, enticing. Black pepper, malty, sticky nose. Cola spice & acid laced, sticky half toasty malt, turning pepper jam acid sweet, then straight black cake dense. Cola acid lingers, hard carb, it comes off like spicy rye. Kinda good, spirited & fun, just short of great.
