We're at the end of the brew boil run and could have just stopped here, instead, sparing no cost, we add a tonne of additional hop for some opulent citrusy flavour. This balances nicely with the extra fire brew maltiness in this Pale Ale. The spicy aroma makes the Pony frisky behind the brew shed.

Bottle at Taps Beer Bar, Changkat, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy light amber colour with a thin white head. The aroma is malt, light yeast, biscuit, dough, glue, hay, light citrus fruit. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a light crisp, malty, light fruit, light floral hop bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. A nicely balanced, decent all round pale ale. Quite inoffensive. Refreshing and hits the spot even though it’s far from being one of their better beers.

On tap at The Local Melbourne, pours a hazy copper golden with a small white head. Aroma brings out some biscuity malt and a touch of pine. Flavour is along the same lines, with a fairly tame profile, with biscuity malt and a touch of piney notes. Boring but clean. Solid stuff.

330ml bottle. Cloudy amber colour with average to huge, frothy, fairly lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Mildyl citrusy and piney, hoppy aroma, caramel malty background, a minimally strawy touch. Taste is moderately bitter hoppy, minimally citrusy, a touch of lemon, lemon tea, minimally sugary, caramel malty basis. OK.

Bottle. Light amber with an off white head. Mellow earthy and spicy aroma with bread, gentle citrus and some grapes. fairly light bodied, lowish carbonation. Bread and some toffee with a slightly surprising depth to the malty flavours. Some citrus but mainly peppery bitterness at the end. There’s something limpidly refreshing about it that I like but don’t understand. Nice beer.

From a 330ml bottle on 16/6/2013. Pours a murky dark golden with a biggish head. Has a light fruity, slightly floral aroma. The flavour features lots of sweet citrus and stone fruit, a little honey, and some bready malt and earthy notes in the background. Has a quite hoppy bitterness in there to balance things out. Has quite a full body and medium to lively carbonation. Incorrectly listed as an IPA. Actually comes across as something between and American and English pale. This is the second beer I’ve tried by this brewer, and both have been good.
