Putting all the hype aside for this astonishingly trendy style of beer, there’s a reason why New England IPAs have proved so popular recently. Massively flavoursome in the mouth and enticing on the eye. Packed full of Citra and El Dorado hops, this baby is juicier than a fruit factory explosion. It’s time to start your love affair with NEIPAs and like all prospective long term relationships, bitterness is dialled down to ‘super low’, so you can chew on it all day. Can at Taps Beer Bar, Changkat, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a hazy golden orange colour with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is grainy malt, orange tangerine citrus hop. The flavour is moderate bitter light sweet, with a light, crisp, mineral, dry earthy, zesty, light tart citrus, light dry hop bitter, light floral palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation.

From a 375ml can on 6/5/2019. Pours a very slightly hazy light golden with a big white head. The nose is muted, with a just a hint of fruit and spice. The flavour is similarly benign, with indistinct sweet fruit and a gentle bitterness, again with touch of spice and citrus zest. Medium bodied with moderate carbonation. Pretty bland and lacking in character.

Schooner on tap at Club Rivers, Riverwood. Hazy amber beer with a thin white head. Light tropical fruit nose with a hint of strawberry doughnut. Good lacing. Super easy drinking with light carbonation. Taste is more sweet fruit, then an understated woody, earthy, finish. Very nice.
