Cask at the Post Office Vaults, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a lasting frothy off white head. The aroma is roasty malt, charcoal, coffee. The flavour is liquorice bitter, with a smooth, roasty, liqouirce, charcoal, dry coffee, hop bitter palate and a lingering liqouirce bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask half-pint at The Crown Inn, Oakengates on 28th Apr 2017. Dark brew with a beige head. Coffee esters dominate the nose, also dominates in the taste, coffee flavours ooze from the malty based brew. A liquorice trace or two towards the finish: liked it. A light alcohol ’Frappé coffee’.

Cask at the Wellington; dark brown pour with a bubbly light tan head, aroma has a hint of coffee and some roast, taste has some smoke, roast coffee, bit of tar, ok for a low boost stout.
