Visionary Brew Pumpkin Ale (2014)

My bottle is part of the ’den of sin’ series - listed at 7,8% abv on the twelve ounce bottle. Hazy deep brown coloured body with a thin, single centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of squash, brown sugar, caramel, pumpkin pie spice, allspice and a touch of canella - nice and strong throughout. Light to Medium-bodied; Earthy and strong malt up front with some grain and a lot of squash around, all with a pleasant caramelised sweetness and some brown sugars at the tail end. Aftertaste shows a subdued sweetness with just a hint of the spice - allspice being the strongest, all with a little noticeable squash and no alcohol at all to speak of. Overall, a decent beer at best the spices around and some light sweetness, but no complexity and no real depth here. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Spec’s in Dallas, Texas on 11-November-2015 for US$4,20 sampled at home in Washington on 16-January-2016
