Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a black color with a medium sized creamy tan head that lingered and left very good lacing. The aroma was sweetish with anise, red wine, vanilla and floral hops. The flavor was bitter with tangy red wine, vanilla, anise, roasty malts, a boozy presence, toasty malts, moderately strong floral & fruity hops, and was just delightfully complex. Incredibly long finish. Full bodied, thick and creamy. Well done.
