A dark, brooding and powerful appearance belies the silverback’s true nature. He is gentle and full of character, just like this smooth and creamy stout. A clever blend of roasted malts and grains creates this black ale with a smooth and creamy mouthfeel.A dark, brooding and powerful appearance belies the silverback’s true nature. Dark brown, near black with a frothy / creamy tan head and a soft roasted malt, coffee and treacle aroma. Medium bodied, notes of milk chocolate with roasted malt, some coffee bitterness and a dry finish.

Handpull cask from the Salmon, Leicester. Dark brown and a little translucent. A big ring of off-white head leaving loads of lacing. Aroma is dominated by liquorice, some treacle and black malts. Sweet, sweet taste.more liquorice, tempered with a touch of savoury yeast extract. Notable btterness in the finish. Light body, soft to no carbonation. Pretty hood but too kuch liquorice for me personally.
